The course

Course description

The start line is near the bandstand.
First lap: head anti-clockwise to the Tea Rooms and then turn left following the path down and around the lake and back to the bandstand.

For lap two (an out and back) follow the path past the bandstand and tea rooms to the end of the park, turn left and follow the path over the little bridge and continue down the path. Keeping the MAC on your right, run along the path, over the bridge and then turn right to run past the play area an onto the narrow path (buggies are not able to overtake along the narrow path). Follow this path to the triangle.

Turning around at the triangle of paths, run back along the narrow path, and back towards the MAC (please keep to your right). Once past the MAC marshals will direct you to a path on the right, follow this keeping the lake to your left hand side to join the top path, turn right and follow the path back towards the tea rooms. Run past the tea rooms until you reach the bottom of the hill, turn left up the hill and follow path to the finish line.

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at this event and this course is not suitable for double buggies.

Please be aware there are potholes on the course, cones will used to mark most of these.

Please also keep to the right of the cones running from the MAC to the bridge.

On the course

The course is 5k long. It's run in Cannon Hill Park, near Edgbaston Stadium and run entirely on tarmac footpaths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Please remember that the parkrun uses shared paths. For the continued success of the event, please give way to other park users. This won't hurt your time, it won't stop you from getting a PB and it will make sure everyone continues to enjoy the event.

Please, wherever possible walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. Parking may be limited so try to arrive early.

Facilities

Parking: Charge is £2.20 (but may increase, so please have change, payment by phone is possible but we recommend arriving with both payment options available) for both the MAC car park (B12 9QH) and the Russell Road (B13 8RD) car park.

Toilets: Toilets are available at the MAC from 9am, unless the MAC is closed and in the Tea Rooms from 9am for customers.
