The course
Course description
A flat, rural grass and trail course starting with an anti-clockwise lap of half the playing field, before a brook crossing via a narrow bridge and an anti-clockwise lap round Dishley Pool, breaking off for an out and back on a compacted gravel path before completing the lap of the pool, then back over the brook via the same bridge, the anti-clockwise lap of the field is repeated followed by a half lap before turning off and finishing to the side of the Rugby Club.
The course starts at the southern edge of the playing fields near the end of the rugby pitches and finishes at the Rugby Club - around 300m from the start. The course consists of grass and earth and gravel paths, and can have some muddy areas especially after rain, Trail Shoes are recommended following a period of persistent rainfall. The course crosses the Black Brook over a narrow bridge twice, please take care here. Part of the route is two-way on a fairly narrow path, keep right along this section.
In the event of contact with the water please be aware of the NHS advice regarding Leptospirosis (Weils’ Disease) by visiting the following website www.nhs.uk/conditions/leptospirosis.
Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at this event.
On the course
The course is 5k long. The course is at Loughborough Rugby Club, Dishley, Loughborough. The course is run on a mixture of trail paths and grass. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.
Please remember that the parkrun uses shared paths. For the continued success of the event, please give way to other park users. This won't hurt your time, it won't stop you from getting a PB and it will make sure everyone continues to enjoy the event.
Please, wherever possible walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. Parking may be limited so try to arrive early.
Facilities
There are toilets at the rugby club.
