The course

Course description

An undulating one lap course through the beautiful Hadleigh Park with stunning views across the Thames Estuary. The course follows part of the 2012 Olympic mountain bike trail.

Course A (currently used): This one lap course is entirely on gravel paths. The course starts 200 metres from the Hub (what3words: ///hype.sweep.jets) You’ll be able to see the start from the Hub. The course heads down “Boulder Alley” towards the narrow green gate. The trail path continues in the direction of Benfleet Station along the top path until the 2.5k mark and turns left along the lower path, passing through the gates next to 3 cattle grids, back towards the narrow green gate, up Boulder Alley and finishing 100 metres before the start.

Course B: This one lap course is mostly on gravel paths with one grass section uphill. The course starts 100 metres from the Hub (what3words: ///theme.vanish.basis) You’ll be able to see the start from the Hub. The course heads down “Boulder Alley” towards the narrow green gate. The trail path continues in the direction of Benfleet Station along the top path until the 2.5k mark and turns left along the lower path, until a sharp left through a gate into a field across the grass, back towards the narrow green gate, up Boulder Alley and finishing 200 metres before the start (the same finish as Course A).

The course is suitable for buggies, although due to the challenging nature of the course, trail buggies are recommended.

On the course

The course is 5k long. The course is in Hadleigh Country Park, Hadleigh. The course is run on a mixture of trail paths and grass. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Please remember that the parkrun uses shared paths. For the continued success of the event, please give way to other park users. This won't hurt your time, it won't stop you from getting a PB and it will make sure everyone continues to enjoy the event.

Please, wherever possible walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving.
