The course

Course description

Starting on hard standing ground next to the main rugby pitch near the Brooklyn Road entrance, the course runs around the rugby pitch before completing three anti-clockwise laps of the playing fields. Each lap runs almost straight down one side and then dog-legging back up the three banked areas avoiding the pitches and boggy areas, skipping the main rugby pitch. We then finish close to where we started back towards the main rugby pitch.

The route is mainly trail with steep banking so please contact the team via the email address at the bottom of the web page to talk through the details of the course so that a wheelchair or buggy user can decide whether they feel it is suitable for them.

When it's been wet the course becomes slippy in places and it's advisable to run in trainers with more grip if you have them, eg trail shoes.

When damp, particularly (but not only) in summer months and in humid conditions, we suggest you may find it beneficial to apply insect repellant before arriving.

On the course

The course is 5k long. The course is at King George V Playing Field, Cheltenham. The course is run on a mixture of concrete paths and grass. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Please remember that the parkrun uses shared paths. For the continued success of the event, please give way to other park users. This won't hurt your time, it won't stop you from getting a PB and it will make sure everyone continues to enjoy the event.

Please, wherever possible walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. Parking may be limited so try to arrive early.

Facilities

Toilets available in Saracens Rugby Club.
