The course

Course description

Starting from near the bandstand, a hilly three lap picturesque course going clockwise, with a great mix of arboretum, formal park, woodland and open field with views across the Stroud valleys. Trail shoes are recommended.

On the course

The course is 5k long. The course is at Stratford Park, Stroud. The course is run on a mixture of trail paths and grass. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Please remember that the parkrun uses shared paths. For the continued success of the event, please give way to other park users. This won't hurt your time, it won't stop you from getting a PB and it will make sure everyone continues to enjoy the event.

Please, wherever possible walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. Parking may be limited so try to arrive early.

Facilities

Free car park with toilets, with additional toilets available in the leisure centre (you’ll need to ask to be buzzed in). All toilets have disabled access. Bike stands are available outside the leisure centre, or you could use the bandstand, which can also be used to store other belongings at your own risk. There is a play area for children above the car park.

There is a good range of other leisure facilities available in Stratford Park, including an indoor pool, tennis, a skate park and a local history museum. Braver runners might like to warm down in the crystal clear but unheated waters of the outdoor pool (open end of May to end of August).
