The course
Course description
We assemble at the Art Deco Bandstand for the First Timers’ Welcome and the pre event briefing and then walk the few metres to the start for two tarmac laps on the picturesque Victoria Embankment in Nottingham, starting and stopping close to Cafe Romano. The course is 2 ½ laps that start close to the Wilford Suspension Bridge.
From the start you head towards the Wilford Tram Bridge. Before you reach the Bridge, turn left towards the lower path which you follow along the side of the river (ensuring you don’t run/ overtake on the steps) towards the Suspension Bridge. Before you get to the bridge, take the last path back up to the top path, and this completes your first lap.
Repeat for the 2nd lap, but when you get back to the suspension bridge go underneath to the 2nd path, heading back to the top path before finishing in front of the War Memorial.
On the course
The course is 5k long. The course is at Victoria Embankment, Nottingham. The course is run entirely on permanent paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.
Please remember that the parkrun uses shared paths. For the continued success of the event, please give way to other park users. This won't hurt your time, it won't stop you from getting a PB and it will make sure everyone continues to enjoy the event.
Please, wherever possible walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. Parking may be limited so try to arrive early.
Facilities
