Christmas Day and the following New Year’s Day

What is the Festive Double parkrun challenge?

Festive Double is a seasonal parkrun challenge that links Christmas Day with New Year's Day. To complete it, record one official finish on 25 December and another on the immediately following 1 January, both within the same festive period. For example, Christmas Day 2026 and New Year's Day 2027 form a qualifying pair. The parkruns don't have to be at the same venue, but the two dates must belong to that same Christmas-to-New-Year stretch. It's separate from the old NYD Double, which required two runs on a single New Year's Day. Check which local events are actually hosting festive parkruns.

  • The New Year’s Day has to be the one immediately after that Christmas. A Christmas in one year and a New Year’s Day from an earlier year do not combine.
  • The two finishes can be at different parkruns.
  • This is separate from NYD Double, which is two parkruns on the same 1 January.
