The course

Course description

This hilly course is 2.5 laps of the park and is run anti clockwise.
It starts adjacent to the mini bandstand on the path named Lover’s Walk and heads gently downhill. A left turn is followed by a sharp right leading to an uphill climb and around the top park perimeter with wonderful views of Glasgow and beyond. Participants then follow a sharp downhill past the allotments and just after the disused buildings take a sharp right turn, uphill towards Muiryfauld Drive followed by a left turn downhill past the children's playground. The course descends quickly to the park road, crossing it then turning left, climbing in an arc around the Rose Garden, crossing the park road again and entering Lovers Walk to complete the lap.
The second lap is identical to the first, and on the third lap the course is followed until the downhill to the disused buildings with the finish straight ahead on grass.

On the course

The course is 5k long. The course is in Tollcross park, Glasgow. The course is run on a mixture of tarmac paths and grass for the final 50 metres. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Please remember that the parkrun uses shared paths. For the continued success of the event, please give way to other park users. This won't hurt your time, it won't stop you from getting a PB and it will make sure everyone continues to enjoy the event.

Please, wherever possible walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. Parking may be limited so try to arrive early.
