The course

Course description

The course which is 2.5 laps in a clockwise direction starts in the middle of the park at the statue of Sir James Reid and heads south towards the perimeter path where it turns right downhill with a view to the skeletal Winter Gardens to the right. This is the start of the first lap. The course continues on the path with the rockery to the left and further on the basketball court to the right. It then takes a left turn towards Mosesfield House and continues around the house emerging with the Mosesfield Memorial Garden on the right. The course then goes straight on until the path splits and it goes to the right where you pass the pond on the left and then carries onwards around the top perimeter path and down to complete the first lap. Repeat the lap. On the third lap instead of going left at Mosesfield house continue on the main path and turn right along to the finish at the Unicorn ‘fountain’ monument.

On the course

The course is 5k long. The course is in Springburn Park, Balgrayhill Road, Glasgow, G21 3UB. The course is run entirely on tarmac paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Please remember that the parkrun uses shared paths. For the continued success of the event, please give way to other park users. This won't hurt your time, it won't stop you from getting a PB and it will make sure everyone continues to enjoy the event.

Please, wherever possible walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. Parking may be limited so try to arrive early.

Facilities

There are access to toilets at the football pitches within the park which are approx 400 metres from the start of the run.
