What is the Explorer 100 parkrun challenge?

Explorer 100 is a parkrun tourism challenge for participants who have visited 100 different event locations. Unlike challenges based on finishing times or attendance streaks, Explorer 100 focuses entirely on how many unique places you've completed. One recorded 5K finish at a new venue is enough to add it to the collection, whether you travel across town or across the world. Several finishes at the same location still count as just one venue. The target overlaps with the Cowell Club, so a runner who qualifies for one will generally qualify for the other under the same venue-counting rules. It's a celebration of curiosity and exploring.

  • A location counts once. Further visits to the same parkrun do not add another one.
  • The tracker counts locations across your whole history, not inside a single year.
  • This is separate from Single-Ton and Double-Ton, which count repeat visits to one parkrun.
  • Explorer 100 sits between Cowell Club at 100 locations and Freyne Club at 250 locations.
  • The other steps are Tourist (20 locations), Quarter Cowell (25 locations), Half Cowell (50 locations), Three-Quarter Cowell (75 locations), Cowell Club (100 locations), Freyne Club (250 locations), and Explorer 250 (250 locations).
